What Elway said, What Elway really meant.

March 22, 2012
“Tim Tebow deserves an enormous amount of credit for what he accomplished and how he carried himself during his time with the Broncos,” Broncos executive vice president of football operations John Elway said in a statement Wednesday night. “His time in Denver will always hold a special place in Broncos history.”
Now here is what John Elway really means: “Tebow screwed my plan up to sink the team for Andrew Luck. I traded our #1 WR to give him as little as possible. Figured he would tank. But he didn’t. The way he plays the game is like watching former relief pitcher of the Phillies for 60mins. His legend was becoming too big and was overshadowing me. How can you get rid of a budding legend without looking like a fool? Payton Manning. He was the only way I can look good and get rid of Tebow and I did it. I sent him to the Jets so he can fail. If Payton gets hurt and Tim would of won games in Jacksonville I would be looked like a fool. Sending Tim to New York is like when Buddy the Elf went there to find his dad in that Elf movie. I am smarter then you.”
